Pass and fail system
Our education system badly needs a structural overhauling to stop its gradual degeneration into an unending series of unproductive and socially divisive competition of victory and defeat with least of concern for the quality of life. Marks obtained in the Examination is treated as the conclusive statement on the standard and profile of students without much regard for other dimensions of his/her personality which may be far more prolific, productive and distinctly creative to the society. We have not taken our educational system seriously for one or other reasons which a high opportunity has cost. More than ambitions and goal what is important is that our children should be happy, full of energy and enthusiasm with a constructive perspective on things in life and the rest of the things will fall in place. We forget that happiness is largely a subjective phenomenon and therefore we should help them in proving themselves on their estimation of happiness and success largely with firm yet un invasive guardianship. They need to learn to celebrate the making of effort to accomplish something in life.
