After the bypolls

The loss of Phulpur, Gorakhpur and Carana among others in the recently held byelections should undoubtedly be a matter of concern for the BJP leadership but at same time it would be a 'monumental folly on the part of this multi coloured co alition of opposition to assume that they can orchestrate the same at all India level when the country is faced with a million dollar question of choosing its Prime Minster to lead 133 crore people. When a loosely stitched 'headless' coalition of regional satraps based solely on 'anti modi' sentiments; inspired by the fear' of loosing political space and the hope of carving out a share in the political power at the centre in furtherance of their respective regional political interests without any 'visible vision' for the progressive transformation in the socio economic life of people confronts the enterprising leadership of Mr. Modi riding on a series of victories in state elections, unprecedented mass following at global level and the distinction of having provided a 'scam free' government with a definite 'vision as well as mission' - it will be difficult to win unless they succeed in making a more creative use of their collective wisdom anchored less on 'Modi Hatao' and more on ' better governance lao'.
