The UPSC civil services exam is not limited to a single or couple of books. Students have to consult the plethora of books for the exam. IAS coaching center Jaipur that is IIIASA also recommends some important books for the preparation of civil services prelims and mains exam. Those who are relying on electronic resources should also give importance to the books which give a certain approach to start the study in a regular manner. We should always study in a hierarchy of simple to complex. This structure could be gained from books only. Though the use of the electronic medium is also important for the civil services preparation apart from that books also impart a crucial part of the study.
Students are given the reference and recommendations to use the best books by the IAS coaching institutes in Jaipur and in other states. Foundation classes for IAS course refer books like Laxmikant for Indian Polity, Bipin Chandra’s Ancient History, and Spectrum for the modern history, NCERT books from class 6th to 12th for the basic readings and conceptual clarity. For geography, NCERT is the best books for IAS preparation along with current affairs supplements.
Apart from it Rajagopalan for Environment Studies and Ramesh Singh for the Indian Economy are some of the best books to prepare UPSC prelims exam. We cannot depend upon these books only as anything that comes under the sun could be asked in the prelims exam of civil services and that is why students should always prepare with multiple sources which could be revised as well. Crash course classes for civil services in Jaipur are given by the teachers of IIIASA to the Aspirants.
The preparation of UPSC civil services main exam is not different from that of the prelims and interview. The main difference in the preparation is the structure of the prelims and mains. As we all the mindful of the fact that prelims exam is conducted in the form of multiple choice questions but there is no such pattern in the mains exam of UPSC. Here students have to be critical and descriptive in their answers. Civil services coaching in Jaipur by IIIASA also prepare students towards this challenge of critical answer writing skills. The same books could be referred for the purpose of mains as well, but they must be compared with the current affairs happening in every part of the life. Some magazine like YOJNA and Kurukshetra are also important for the exam study of IAS. Economic survey and budget serve an important role in the preparation of both main and prelims exam of the IAS. Separate classes for Hindi and English medium students are given by IIIASA in Jaipur to the Aspirants.
The books of every optional subject are available in the market in which students can gain expertise. Those who have taken the same subjects like that of graduation then their college notes and books could also be used for this purpose. Those who have opted for some another subject can do a little research on the important topics and books of their subject to chase their dream in the civil services exam.
